WP 2: Development of Environmental Quality Standards
WP 2 will result on the main deliverable of the project, the proposed Environmental Quality Standards for olive oil and table olives production.

Task 6: Formation of the working group
The working group will be integrated by the RTDs and representatives from the IAGs and the SMEs (the ESCs and the olive mills and table olives producers). External support could be required in some cases (other research institutions).

Task 7: Assessment of technologies and selection of best techniques
The aim of this task is to develop a critical analysis of the production processes and of the technologies identified in tasks 1 and 3. Prior to performing this assessment, it will be necessary to select a set of comparison indicators.

Task 8: Development of a draft of environmental performance standards by the different working subgroups
Based on the relevant legislation, the ISO 14024 guidelines for environmental labelling implementation, the BREFs developed by the EIPPCB, literature reviews and other sources, the subgroups will develop a draft set of environmental standards applicable for olive oil and table olives production. The most important part will be Environmental Performance Criteria (EPC): compliance with the EPC will allow an olive mill or table olives manufacturer to receive the certification.

Task 9: Consideration and discussion of the proposed draft standards
The draft environmental standards will be submitted to consideration and discussion between all the members of the working group.

Task 10: Circulation and consultation with third parties
After the working group reaches a preliminary consensus on the set of environmental standards, they will be submitted for consultation to other relevant stakeholders, such as environmental authorities, consumer associations, environmental groups and other relevant actors identified in task 1.

Task 11.: Final decision and adoption of the standards
After the consultation process, the working group will decide on the definitive standards and will make a copy available for all the organisations involved in the development procedure.
